Many of our suppliers are swapping importing to making, as it becomes more cost efficient. Shipping, and the US Dollar are both very volatile, and are the deciding factors, to an importers final costings, and remain out of their control. Higher prices makes it very diificult for any business to stay competitive in all market places, and furniture is no exception.

It had been difficult over the past decade to make anything in the UK. Higher priced, and luxury goods have continued to be made here at home, but now we may see a rise in fabric sofas at all price points being made here.

The new regs have been put in place to protect the forests, and woodland across the whole of Europe, and is indeed a good project, but by doing so there is a cost, and it is normally passed down.
